gantry crane

Heavy-duty gantry crane systems engineered for reliable, safe, and efficient material handling across industrial, infrastructure, fabrication, logistics, and outdoor applications.

Gantry Cranes

Heavy-Duty Lifting Solutions for Industrial Applications

BVS Gantry Cranes are engineered for safe, efficient, and reliable material handling in demanding industrial environments. They provide an effective lifting solution for applications where conventional overhead crane runway systems are not practical or feasible.

With robust steel structures, precise motion control, reliable hoisting systems, and configurable designs, gantry cranes can be adapted to different lifting capacities, spans, operating conditions, and material-handling requirements.

Built for Strength. Designed for Performance.

Our gantry crane systems are designed to provide stable and reliable operation under demanding working conditions. High structural strength, efficient drive systems, and precise controls ensure safe handling of heavy loads while supporting continuous industrial operations.

Key Advantages

  • High load-handling capability
  • Robust and durable structure
  • Smooth and precise crane travel
  • Reliable lifting performance
  • Enhanced operational safety
  • Easy inspection and maintenance
  • Configurable for different applications and environments

Types of Gantry Cranes

Full Gantry Crane

Full gantry cranes are supported by two legs travelling along rails installed at ground level. They are suitable for outdoor yards, fabrication areas, ports, precast facilities, and other applications requiring large working areas and heavy lifting capacities.

Semi-Gantry Crane

Semi-gantry cranes combine a ground-supported travelling leg on one side with an elevated runway system on the other. This configuration is ideal where existing building structures can support part of the crane system or where floor space needs to be optimized.

Key Components of a Gantry Crane System

Hoisting Group

The hoisting group provides the crane’s vertical lifting motion and typically consists of the hoist motor, gearbox, rope drum, wire ropes, brakes, and hook assembly. It is engineered to provide safe, controlled, and precise lifting and lowering of loads.

Travelling Groups

Travelling groups provide horizontal movement of the crane along the runway or rails. Depending on the crane configuration, they include wheel assemblies, drive motors, gearboxes, brakes, and supporting structures, ensuring smooth and controlled crane travel.

Control Panel

The electrical control panel manages the crane’s main operating and safety functions. It houses electrical distribution, control, protection, and automation components and can be supplied with a suitable enclosure protection level according to the operating environment.

Operator Cabin

Where required, an operator cabin can provide a dedicated control station with clear visibility of the working area. The cabin may incorporate crane controls, monitoring instruments, communication equipment, and required safety systems.

Cable Drum

Motorized or spring-operated cable drums can be used for managing crane power and control cables during travelling movement. The system provides controlled cable winding and unwinding while reducing cable wear, tangling, and mechanical damage.

Under-Hook Equipment

Gantry cranes can be equipped with different load-handling attachments according to the application, including:

  • Hook blocks
  • Lifting beams
  • Spreader beams
  • Container spreaders
  • Coil lifting attachments
  • Grabs
  • Clamps
  • Magnets
  • Vacuum lifting systems

Applications

Gantry cranes can be engineered for a wide range of industrial and infrastructure applications, including:

  • Ports and container terminals
  • Steel and metal fabrication plants
  • Construction and infrastructure projects
  • Precast concrete yards
  • Warehousing and logistics facilities
  • Railway maintenance facilities
  • Outdoor storage and assembly yards
  • Heavy industrial manufacturing facilities

Engineered for International Projects

Our gantry crane systems are developed with consideration for internationally recognized engineering and safety requirements. Engineering, manufacturing, inspection, documentation, testing, and packaging can be adapted to the technical specifications and regulatory requirements of each project.

From initial engineering to manufacturing and final delivery, each crane system is configured according to the required lifting capacity, span, lifting height, duty requirements, travelling arrangement, operating environment, and load-handling application.
